Review Week 13

Balance is used in this picture because it shows how different types of objects can be evened out or balanced in a picture. A larger dark object can be balanced by a small dark object.

Gradation is shown in this picture by the objects going from dark to light and light to dark.

Repetition is used in this picture because the square shapes are repeating in a line and pattern.

Variation is used in this picture and can be shown by the different types of squares used in the pattern.

Harmony is used in this picture because the colors used are across from each other on the color wheel and it is  visually satisfying.

Contrast is used in this picture because there is a big difference in the light and dark in the picture and the way the eye is drawn to two separate colors and lines.

Dominance is used in this picture because there is a distinct emphasis on the colored whipped cream and cherry. The back ground is black and white and the color pops and draws all of the viewers attention to it.

Unity is used in this picture because all the shapes used are organic and free floating, they all are working together in the same way to create the overall message and appearance.

How do you add a layer mask to a particular layer? You select the layer you want to add the mask to, then click the button that is a square with a circle inside. That creates a mask on the layer and then click the mask which is next to the layer.

What two colors are used to create the mask? Black and white

Describe the process of using a layer mask? It creates a second layer over the original picture so you can manipulate the picture any way you want.
